Using calcium‐rich precursors to improve the early‐compressive strength of alkali‐activated slag cement at low temperature

This study examines the potential of using calcium-rich precursors to improve strength alkali-activated slag (AAS) cement at low temperature. To achieve this target, effect on early development AAS mortars cured 5°C was assessed. The investigated along with its internal temperature, microstructure and reaction products. It is found that can around 35% group Portland clinker gave highest strength. Calcium oxide also increase compressive cement, but effectiveness not as good sample clinker. Adding calcium sulfoaluminate strength, while no significant contribution 28-day could be found. results highlight modified mortar reach 15 MPa 6 h 20 24 5°C, suggesting binder a valuable alternative for temperature construction.
